Social Work
We provide a social work programme that is home based and supports families, children and dividuals. This service is without charge and provided to the wider Auckland community, however it’s focus is on Central, South and West Auckland.Every family has some time in life become overwhelmed by the pressures of living, or when facing a crisis, especially when extended family support is not available.
Feeling overwhelmed and suffering the effects of poverty, isolation from supports, housing needs, health concerns, loss and violence are some of the reasons people contact us and ask us to work with them.
Parenting and general family issues are also important concerns for many families.
Many families experience worries such as:
- Feeling there is no one to turn to
- Learning to parent alone
- Coping with the loss of someone close
- Facing a major unexpected change
- Feeling exhausted
- Recognising that you need to take care of yourself
The social work programme can assist families with respite care for children provided by camp placements. This is provided when it is agreed that it is helpful to the plan to support your family through a difficult time.
