The 2017 Annual Report outlines ways in which catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Auckland has supported people to start to flourish again in families and communities.
The work of Auckland catholic Social Services in the 2016/2017 financial year has included counselling and social work support to individuals and families faced with challenges; providing prison chaplaincy to people at vulnerable times in their lives; supporting disadvantaged people setting up homes and collecting household and pantry items.
Our 2018 year has also included discernment about how we can be more in solidarity with the poor and homeless of Auckland including working in partnership with James Liston House, de Paul House, Auckland Mission, the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and St. Vincent de Paul society.
Please read more about our activities as we have worked to respond to the needs around us and to heed Pope Francis’s call to “love, not with words, but with deeds”.
