We offer inclusive services to anyone needing support, regardless of religion, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender identity or socioeconomic status.

Services we offer:

Counselling Expand

Our counsellors see individuals, couples, families, adults and children seeking therapeutic support. It is a helping process that empowers you to manage your life situation and move forward in a more positive way. Clients come to counselling to address challenges such as:

  • stress, depression or anxiety
  • relationship difficulties
  • anger, physical, emotional and sexual violence/abuse
  • intergenerational family issues
  • grief
  • family violence
  • divorce, separation and subsequent care of children
  • parenting issues
  • ACC sexual abuse counselling

We charge a reasonable hourly rate for counselling. We do not turn anyone away based on financial circumstances - please discuss your financial capacity with your counsellor.

Counselling is available for Spanish speaking and Tongan speaking individuals and families.

Social Work Expand

Our social worker team supports individuals and families to improve well-being and build resilience. Our social work services often involve WINZ and housing advocacy, increasing social connections, parenting support, reducing family harm, and addiction and mental health advocacy.

Through our Social Work and Family Violence intervention, we empower families and individuals and strive to achieve ‘safety, welfare and wellbeing’ – being able to thrive in a safe and healthy environment with a long-term sustainability. Social workers often network with other agencies to assist clients in accomplishing their goals.

Our social work services are free to all clients.

Chaplaincy Services

A chaplain's presence can have a calming and peaceful effect in prisons. In times of loneliness and despair, a chaplain can be well positioned to be an independent, compassionate advocate. They provide pastoral care and support to men and women held in our regional prisons. We also extend care and support to their families.

There is a Catholic prison chaplain in all New Zealand public prisons. The service is supported in full by the New Zealand Catholic Bishops and the Department of Corrections. They work alongside numerous Inter-denominational chaplaincy groups.

In a typical week chaplains will conduct prayer, meditation, music and sacramental liturgies, Bible studies and help organise other programmes such as Seasons for Growth.

How do I get support?

If you would like to make an appointment or refer someone to our services, please contact our office by phone or use the Contact Us form. You'll be connected with our intake coordinator who will ask you some questions and connect you with a counsellor or social worker.

There are times when we have a wait-list for our services; we will do our best to get you an appointment as soon a possible or refer you to another appropriate agency.

Confidentiality

All our services are confidential. We do not share your information with anyone else unless you give us permission. If however, we feel there is a safety issue for you or someone you are associated with, we may need to take action to assist you. Whenever possible this will be done in consultation with you.

To get in contact with us for services, please use the Contact Us page.
